SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT

1) Establishment of Task Force on Bird Flu

A Task Force on Bird Flu has been set up in November with members from the following departments:

- Centre Administration Department
- Customer Services Department
- Course Administration Department
- Training and Consultancy Department
- Personnel Department
- Information Technology Department
- Accounting Department

2) Building a Central Stock of Surgical Masks

The Centre Administration Department has ordered and maintained a central stock of surgical masks and alcohol-gel towelettes for all of our training centres and offices.

3) Stepping up Hygienic Measures at Training Centres

Other than the daily routines for keeping a clean and hygienic work environment, the Centre Administration Department has stepped up some measures on all of our training centres, including

1)	Regular cleaning of air filters of air-conditioning systems;
2)	Regular cleaning of microphones provided in classrooms using disinfectant cleaning agents;
3)	Regular cleaning of door handles and railings in public areas using disinfectant cleaning agents;
4)	Regular topping up of water in air traps of floor drains in public areas;
5)	Provision of alcohol-gel towelettes in main entrance lobbies of training centres upon request;
6)	Regular cleaning of lift buttons using disinfectant cleaning agents;
7)	Posting up of relevant posters in toilets and public areas at training centres;
8)	Putting up notices inside toilet cubicles to remind users to pull down the WC cover before flushing;

Catering staff are requested to put up masks and maintain hygienic practices.

4) Health Education and Promotion

A series of training videos from the Department of Health will be shown during monthly staff meetings.

5) Contingency Planning

A drill exercise for some critical departments will be arranged.

The Personnel Department will consider special sick leave and call-in sick policy for staff in relation to the emergency of suspected and confirmed cases of bird flu.

The Course Administration Department will plan for special examination arrangements upon outbreak of the pandemic disease.

The Task Force will monitor and update contingency plans as required.
