Advanced Diploma in Professional Accounting Studies (DADAS)


The programmes are specially designed for those who wish to enter in the accounting, finance or business industry at para-professional level. The Programmes provide an academic articulation path to candidates build up their accountancy knowledge. The curriculum is developed based on the syllabi of F1 to F7 of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

The Advanced Diploma in Professional Accounting Studies aims at assisting students to build up advanced knowledge and skills in the accountancy area. Graduates of Advanced Diploma in Professional Accounting Studies can articulate to the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Accounting and Finance offered by University of Greenwich in collaboration with the Hong Kong Management Association.

ACCA offers F1 - F9 exemptions to the graduates who have completed both Advanced Diploma in Professional Accounting Studies and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Accounting and Finance offered by University of Greenwich, UK.

Structure

Advanced Diploma in Professional Accounting Studies (DADAS)

The Programme consists of four modules to be completed in one year. It is tailor made for those who have prerequisite studies in accountancy.

DADAS 01 - Corporate & Business Law (60 hours)
DADAS 02 - Performance Management (60 hours)
DADAS 03 - Hong Kong Taxation (60 hours)
DADAS 04 - Financial Reporting (60 hours)

Diploma in Professional Accounting Studies (DDAS)

The Programme consists of four modules to be completed in one year. It is tailor made for those who do not have any accountancy training. The candidates will be equipped with necessary accounting knowledge and skills in this Programme.

DDAS 01 - The Accountant for Business (60 hours)
DDAS 02 - Management Accounting (60 hours)
DDAS 03 - Financial Accounting (60 hours)
DDAS 04 - Business Communication (20 hours)

Mr Frederick WOODIER

Mr Woodier has solid teaching experience in teaching accountancy professional examinations. He teaches accounting, finance and business-related subjects for various local and overseas institutions from diploma level to postgraduate level.

He is a workshop facilitator and examination marker for Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants Qualification Programme.

Dr Vincent NG

Dr Ng has solid teaching experience in teaching professional examination preparation courses including ACCA P Level and F Level professional examinations, HKICPA QP programme, CP programme and PBE programme.

Besides, he also teaches accounting and business related courses from sub-degree level to postgraduate level, as well as Management Accounting, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Auditing, Australian Taxation, HK Taxation, Taxation Planning, Corporate Finance and so on.

Mr Albert YIP

Mr. Yip has extensive experience in teaching and practicing law. He teaches professional exam courses in accountancy including ACCA F4 and HKCIPA PC Law on a regular basis. He was the lecturer and deputy programme leader of the accountancy stream in Division of Business at Community College of City University of Hong Kong before practicing law as a barrister-at-law.

Currently, he is the lecturer and dissertation supervisor of Master of Laws (LLM) programme at the University of Greenwich. His teaching area includes company law, business law, intellectual property law, competition law, and employment law.

Entry Requirements

DADAS Entry Requirements

General Entry

  1. Accountancy-related diploma holders OR
  2. HKMA Diploma in Accounting Studies holders OR
  3. HKMA Diploma in Professional Accounting Studies holders OR
  4. HKMA ADMS holders OR
  5. HKMA Business-related Professional Diploma holders OR
  6. Equivalent qualifications.

Mature Student Route

  1. Obtained Level 2 or above in FIVE (5) HKDSE subjects including English and Mathematics; OR
  2. Obtained grade E or above in FIVE (5) HKCEE subject including English and Mathematics; OR
  3. Obtained grade E or above in TWO (2) AS Level and/or ONE (1) A Level subject including English PLUS
  4. Be the age 21 years old or above AND a minimum of (TWO) 2 years of work experience.

DDAS Entry Requirements

General Entry

  1. Obtained Level 2 or above in FIVE (5) HKDSE subjects including English and Mathematics; OR
  2. Obtained grade E or above in FIVE (5) HKCEE subject including English (Syllabus B) and Mathematics; OR
  3. Obtained grade E or above in TWO (2) AS Level and/or ONE (1) A Level subject including English; OR
  4. Successfully completed Yi Jin Diploma, business-related Foundation Diploma, Pre-Associate Degree; OR
  5. Equivalent qualifications.
  6. No work experience is required.

Exemption

Exemption may be offered to applicants based on prior learning in accountancy studies in diploma level. It is subject to the final decision of the Association.

Successful candidates will be awarded:

  • - Advanced Diploma in Professional Accounting Studies
  • - Diploma in Professional Accounting Studies.
