17/11/2000

"The HKMA 40th Anniversary Scholarship scheme is an important step taken by the Association to arouse public awareness of the importance of life-long learning, as we believe that the development of a knowledgeable workforce is the key in maintaining the future competitiveness of Hong Kong." said Dr Elizabeth Shing, JP, Director General of The Hong Kong Management Association at the Scholarship Presentation Ceremony held at its Headquarter yesterday (16 November).

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Hong Kong Management Association, a series of activities has been organized under the theme of "Towards a Knowledge-based Society: Realizing and Nurturing Our Talents". The HKMA 40th Anniversary Scholarship scheme is one of these major initiatives, which will grant 40 executives a full scholarship for a wide range of Diploma and Professional Diploma programmes offered by the Association.

The response to the Scholarship scheme has been very encouraging with more than a thousand people showed keen interest and a total of 200 applications with write-ups of very high quality were received.
