The Finance Management Committee of The Hong Kong Management
Association is hosting its Annual Fellowship Luncheon Talk on "Which
Way The Market" on Monday, 12 February 2001 at 12:45pm at the
Jade Ballroom of Furama Hotel.
In this annual fellowship luncheon talk, the panelists will discuss
with participants their views on factors which influence the dollar`s
latest movements and its effect on other major currencies which
would have strong implications for the stability of international
trade as well as Hong Kong`s prosperity. Forecasts for the value
of the US$ against the Yen, DM, Pound, HK$, the price of major commodities
such as gold per ounce and oil per barrel as well as comments on
the outlook for Hong Kong and China will also be made.
The panelists who will give their views on the topic include Mr
Ian Perkin, Assistant Director/Chief Economist of the Hong Kong
General Chamber of Commerce, Mr Jake van der Kamp, Financial Columnist
of South China Morning Post Publishers Ltd and Dr Enzio von Pfeil,
Chief Executive and Director of Economics Research of Commercial
Economics Asia Ltd.
The luncheon talk is targeted at senior and middle-level executives
in financial or other organizations who are interested in the direction
in which the dollar and commodity markets are heading and in the
