Six Outstanding Programmes Shortlisted for Training Excellence

Organized by the Hong Kong Management Association since 1990, the annual Award for Excellence in Training 2002 has entered into its final stage. Out of 31 entries this year, six excellent training programmes have been selected for the Final Judging.

The six finalists are

The six finalists will share with the business community details of their training programme objectives, contents, implementation and outcomes at an open seminar, "Benchmark Your Training Practices with Some of the Excellent Companies". The seminar is combined with the final round of the competition for the Award for Excellence in Training and is the only real case experience-sharing seminar ever held in Hong Kong. Details are as follows:

At the seminar, the Gold, Silver, Bronze Prizes and Certificates of Merit recipients will be chosen by the Panel of Adjudicators. A recipient of the Best Presentation Award will be selected by all the participants of the seminar. The winner of the Panda-Recruit Most Innovative Award will be chosen from amongst the entries by the Board of Examiners. Results of the Award will be announced at the luncheon following the seminar. The Award Presentation Ceremony will be held on Monday, 23 September 2002 at the Seventeenth Susan Yuen Memorial Lecture, at which winners of the Award will be presented with trophies or certificates.

Mr Peter Wong, Director, Standard Chartered Bank, will deliver a keynote speech during the seminar.

Running in its thirteenth year, the Award is sponsored by Panda-Recruit Group (Media Sponsor), Hang Yick Properties Management Limited, The Hong Kong Jockey Club and Hong Yip Service Company Ltd.

The Award`s Panel of Adjudicators this year comprises: Mr Alfred Chan, Managing Director, The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Ltd; Mr Robert Chow, President and Chief Executive Officer, Panda-Recruit Group; Mr Roger Luk, Managing Director and Deputy Chief Executive, Hang Seng Bank Ltd; Dr Kim Mak, Executive Director, Corporate Development, The Hong Kong Jockey Club; and Mr William Ng, Director, Civil Service Training and Development Institute.
