Delivering great services

The Hong Kong Management Association and Cambridge Judge Business School, Executive Education, collaborate to launch executive education programmes in Hong Kong

Hong Kong. 20 May 2015: In collaboration with The Hong Kong Management Association, the Executive Education division of Cambridge Judge Business School will launch next month a service innovation programme in Hong Kong that will address challenges facing senior leaders in the region.

The two-day event at The Dynasty Club in Hong Kong, on 16-17 June, is the first of two executive education programmes in 2015 and is designed for leaders in sectors including financial services, real estate, professional services, telecoms and manufacturing. The programme - entitled Delivering Great Services: Innovation, Process and Metrics - aims to equip senior executives with a range of practical tools and techniques for designing and delivering great services. It is sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Drawing on a range of public and private sector examples, the programme will cover service innovation, service processes and service metrics. It will equip programme participants to design innovative service processes through such techniques as service design thinking, service prototyping, blueprinting and emotion mapping.

In addition, the programme will help business leaders describe and document their service business model, understanding how it relates to the wider ecosystem, and to select and design service key performance indicators that drive the right behaviours and deliver strategy execution.

The programme was designed by Professor Andy Neely, Fellow in Business Performance Measurement and Management at Cambridge Judge Business School and Director of the Cambridge Service Alliance, a university-business consortium. The programme features case studies from a variety of organisations including Disney, Doha International Airport and Caterpillar.

"There is an inexorable trend toward services; yet despite this fact we know a lot more about how to design and innovate products, and service innovation is often overlooked," said Peter Hiscocks, Chief Executive Officer of Executive Education at Cambridge Judge Business School. "We are very pleased to collaborate with The Hong Kong Management Association to offer this programme to senior executives in Hong Kong, and look forward to working with the organisation on an ongoing basis to deliver executive education programmes in the region."

"Hong Kong is predominantly a service economy. We are delighted to welcome Cambridge Judge Business School and Professor Andy Neely, who will share his wealth of wisdom on how to create value through service innovation so that we not only meet the needs of our own customers and shareholders but also create additional value for them. Cambridge Judge and Professor Neely are very knowledgeable about service economies like Hong Kong and the challenges that CEOs here are facing in the pursuit of service innovation," said Dr Victor Lee, Executive Director of The Hong Kong Management Association.
