Hong Kong Management Association

The 2016 HKMA Annual Conference was successfully held on 2 November 2016 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and attracted around 400 senior executives. The Conference brought together prominent business leaders who shared with participants their invaluable insight under the theme of "Adapting to Change - Hong Kong`s Core Ability".

Mr James Thompson GBS, Chairman of the Association in his Welcoming Address pointed out that, "Globalization, new technologies, and greater transparency have combined to upend the business environment. For some companies, these changes have been fatal as they never managed to adapt to the new business environment and continued to apply a traditional strategy. The objective of the Conference is to bring together a prestigious line-up of speakers to provide a forum for senior executives to explore effective strategies towards the key challenges that Hong Kong is facing, thereby uplifting Hong Kong`s competitive advantage and strengthening its leading position as an international financial, trading and business centre."

In the Closing Address, Mr Helmuth Hennig, Chairman, Conference Organizing Committee; and Group Managing Director, Jebsen & Co. Ltd., believed the discussions at the Conference have been extremely valuable as the speakers have covered many critically important subjects and offered new perspectives to participants about the urge for adaptability to change, as individual businesses and as a city, and reflect on how we can find better ways to go forward.
