Macquarie University Graduate School of Management (MGSM), Macquarie University was established in 1969, making it the oldest continuously operating postgraduate school of business administration in New South Wales, Australia. Renowned for its quality, flexibility and extensive subject range, the MGSM MBA has been a flagship programme of the School since its launch in 1969. The MBA is designed for individuals already in positions of responsibility who have been identified as possessing higher management and leadership potential and who aspire to a general management position.
The MBA course develops through three distinct stages in the learning process and aims to achieve a strategic business perspective, focusing on the competitive advantage of the enterprise. The first stage of the MBA emphasises a general grounding in management; the second stage exposes participants to the perspectives of functional managers; and the third stage adopts the perspective of the general manager, developing the expertise to steer the organization toward achieving and sustaining competitive advantage.
The MBA course comprises the following units:

- Economic Context of Management
- Financial Management
- Foundations of Management Thought
- Information and Decision Analysis
- Marketing Management
- Operations Management
- Organisational Behaviour
- Strategic Frameworks
- Strategic Management
- Electives 1-6
It is a matter of discretion for individual employers to recognise any qualification to which this course may lead.

A degree from a recognised university (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience (e.g. managerial/professional).
Articulation via successful completion of the Graduate Certificate of Management and / or Graduate Diploma of Management.
If you haven't undertaken recognised studies taught in English, such as a degree, you will need to demonstrate your language proficiency. Recognised English language tests include:
- IELTS Academic: Minimum of 7.0 overall with a minimum of 6.0 on each band
- or TOEFL (internet-based): Minimum of 100 overall with a minimum of 12 in Listening, 13 in Reading, 18 in Speaking and 21 in Writing. Note: exam results are valid for 2 years and your results must be valid at the commencement of your program.

|MGSM reviews its fees annually and from time to time, this will result in increases in the fee per unit. Under normal circumstances these increases would be constrained to 5-10% per annum|
